Don't miss this weekend's Black and White Ball: Under the Sea

Take a dive into The Lost Colony's Gala "Under the Sea," a black-tie gala held from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday April 17 at the Wright Brothers Memorial Pavilion. At this annual fund-raising event guests enjoy sumptuous food, an open bar, silent auction, live auction, and the exciting sounds of the North Tower Band.
Guests will enjoy sumptuous appetizers, their choice of select seafood, sushi, pasta, carving station, and desserts along with an open bar, silent auction and a live auction. Live entertainment by North Tower is certain to get everyone off their feet and onto the dance floor.
The North Tower band (pictured here) is familiar throughout the mid-Atlantic since their start over 30-years-ago as a Triangle area acapella quartet. Their diversity, exciting floor show, and horn section have entertained audiences in New York, Montreal, Tampa, and Phoenix as well as Virginia and the Carolinas. During their three decades of professional entertainment they have shared the stage with many famous artists, released several chart topping songs, and entertained audiences all over North America.
The Lost Colony is grateful for the support of many sponsors and individuals to produce this event. Executive Director/Producer Carl V. Curnutte says, "Like other non-profits, we rely on our community and business involvement. The Outer Banks has always been incredibly supportive of our organization and we are thankful for the support we receive. Gala sponsors include: City Beverage, Delena's Eye, Front Porch Cafe, Full moon Cafe, Hardy Moving and Storage, Heritage Auction, Holiday House Florist, Kelly's Restaurant, Luxury, Metro Rental, Ocean Boulevard, Ortega'z, Outer Banks Furniture, Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, Pepsi, The Pearl, The Sanderling, and Tortuga's Lie.
This year's planning committee, co-chaired by Bea Basnight and Gail Midgett, has prepared an underwater oceanic fantasy for the black-tie event. Nautical-themed attire is welcomed. Proceeds from the gala support the production of The Lost Colony produced by the Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA). Reserve your place for this year's "Under the Sea" Black-tie event by calling The Lost Colony office at (252)473-2127. Single tickets are $125 for RIHA members, and $150 for non-members. Reserved tables for ten guests are available for $1,750.
